Advisory Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for the eMoney SQL Database environment and infrastructure within a highly available 24/7/365 setting that caters to the financial services sector.

• Spearhead DBA team projects aimed at enhancing enterprise-level operations and ensuring the availability of the Production SQL environment.

• Supervise daily scheduled maintenance, offer after-hours support, and deliver technical expertise, mentorship, and cross-training.

• Utilize data modeling techniques to facilitate development and implementation efforts, integration, and performance expectations.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in real-time, ensuring end-to-end problem resolution.

• Expertise in automation, scripting, job scheduling, capacity management, index maintenance, and executing SQL in a virtualized environment.

• Direct database software installation and configuration while proactively identifying and addressing system challenges.

• Monitor and enhance query performance and server health.

• Manage database backup and recovery environments, emphasizing Production security, high availability, performance, and capacity planning.

• Consult with management on database concepts and functional capabilities.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBA team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

• At least 8 years of relevant work experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a SQL Server Administrator is required.

• Comprehensive understanding of database environments and infrastructure, including management, high availability, scalability, and performance.

• Extensive knowledge and experience with SQL Always-On availability groups in a multi-site setting, including failover, disaster recovery, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Advanced proficiency in automation, scripting, job scheduling, capacity management, index maintenance, and executing SQL in a virtualized environment.

• Intermediate familiarity with the PowerShell scripting language.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, focusing on documentation and the implementation of best practices.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, group policy standards, and storage best practices within a Microsoft SQL Always-On environment.

• Capability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with Development teams and other organizational stakeholders.
