This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Design and take charge of program architecture and technical strategies.
• Oversee technical development projects and act as the main technical liaison for clients.
• Manage cross-functional project teams involved in thermal analysis, installation, mechanical design and analysis, reliability, controls, electronics and software, and testing.
• Serve as the technical lead for programs and synchronize technical efforts with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and handle program technical risks alongside the Program Manager.
• Manage technical specifications through traceability, decomposition, derivation, and verification and validation processes.
• Distribute and break down high-level requirements into detailed specifications for functional groups, components, and suppliers.
• Contribute to the technical strategy and the advancement and development of the engineering team.
• Investigate and propose investments or modifications in technology, tools, procedures, equipment, and systems.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients and suppliers throughout the design development process.
• Review and approve documentation necessary for transitioning from prototype to production.
• Provide engineering support to diagnose and resolve issues with underperforming products, including root cause and corrective action analysis as well as lessons learned.
• Mentor and guide junior staff members.
• Engage in the development of the technical team.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, ideally in Thermal Management Systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, accompanied by 15+ years of professional experience in Systems Engineering, preferably within Thermal Management Systems.
• Proficient understanding of aerospace technical domains, including requirements management, technical verification and validation, mechanical design, materials, modeling/documentation, structural analysis, thermal fluid sciences, electrical systems, system controls, embedded controls, development testing and analysis, as well as qualification analysis and testing.
• Familiarity with aerospace requirements management methodologies and processes, including traceability, decomposition, derivation, verification, and validation.
• Functional knowledge of major aircraft systems, such as environmental control systems, powerplant, electrical, hydraulics, controls, avionics, power generation, and structures.
• Experience with Vapor Cycle Systems, Liquid Cooling Systems, and/or Air Cycle Systems.
• Knowledge of standard components used in VCS, LCS, and ACS, including heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, valves, motor and motor controllers, and water collectors/separators.
• Understanding of environmental testing and qualification standards like MIL-STD-810 and DO-160.
• Significant experience with requirements management tools and model-based systems engineering tools and processes is highly preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities.
• Proven capability to analyze and resolve issues effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in leading programs and projects.
• Competence in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.
• Well-established project management capabilities.
• Ability to demonstrate U.S. Person status as a lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act.
