Advanced Back-End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Macedonia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement Backend components that encompass APIs, serverless functions, distributed services, queue systems, data storage services, and more.

• Participate in architectural trade-off decisions at both the system and application levels, taking into account performance requirements and external constraints.

• Contribute to and enforce best practices regarding security and data protection across all systems.

• Maintain comprehensive test suites and produce clean code along with thorough documentation.

• Collaborate with technical leads and clients to gather requirements, align expectations, and provide updates on deliverables.

• Adhere to Loka’s career progression by demonstrating technical excellence, innovation, autonomy, ownership, communication, and teamwork.

• Directly report to a Backend Lead.

• Stay updated with industry trends and integrate cutting-edge techniques and tools into ongoing projects.

• Work collaboratively with Machine Learning, Data Engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless Backend integration.

• Take full ownership of assigned tasks and projects, ensuring accountability for outcomes and results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in Backend development.

• Proficient in Python or NodeJs (Typescript).

• Strong foundation in Computer Science.

• Familiarity with API/Web communication protocols (such as OpenAPI, gRPC, etc.).

• Understanding of concurrency concepts in APIs and web services.

• Knowledge of cloud services and the broader landscape.

• Comprehension of traditional and serverless architectures.

• Capable of adopting a container-first approach.

• Excellent command of English: As part of a global team, all meetings, customer calls, and business communications are conducted in English.

• CV should be submitted in English.
