This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Guide students through the creation of personal statements, AMCAS/AACOMAS/TMDSAS activities, most meaningful experiences, secondary essays, MD/PhD essays, letters of intent, and other admissions documents.

• Offer comprehensive, constructive feedback on prompt alignment, content, structure, and language.

• Create illustrative examples customized to students' unique backgrounds and assist them in rewriting in their own style.

• Conduct research to ensure guidance and examples are specific and relevant.

• Provide focused margin notes clarifying reasoning and outlining next steps.

• Uphold students' authentic voices throughout the process.

• Facilitate brainstorming and strategic planning sessions with students.

• Identify items requiring expert judgment and document the rationale behind decisions.

• Contribute to the development of educational resources, training materials, and admissions content.

• Engage in coach training and participate in quality reviews.

• Adhere to established turnaround times and quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, English, Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline (Premium Admissions Level).

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in editing, writing, teaching, publishing, or journalism, and/or a creative writing certification (Signature Admissions Level).

• Outstanding writing, developmental feedback, and coaching abilities, with a solid grasp of grammar, style, and mechanics.

• Keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

• Previous experience in coaching or editing medical school admissions materials is preferred.

• Familiarity with AMCAS, AACOMAS, TMDSAS, and common secondary essay prompts is desirable.

• Proficient understanding of a house style guide and standards for consistency is preferred.
