Administrador de Base de Datos, PostgreSQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ecuador.

📋 Description

• Administer, configure, update, and maintain cloud databases to ensure their availability, performance, and security.

• Design and optimize data structures, queries, indexes, and partitioning strategies.

• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements and optimization processes.

• Manage backups, test recovery strategies, and ensure data integrity.

• Implement access controls, encryption, and protective measures for databases.

• Plan and manage resource capacity, anticipating the platform's growth needs.

• Identify improvement opportunities, propose solutions, and autonomously manage technical issues.

• Collaborate with Development, Platform, and Architecture teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.

• Over 3 years of experience in database administration and management.

• Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL (Advanced level required), Oracle, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, and Aurora.

• Experience with monitoring tools, performance tuning, backups, and recovery.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), data structures, and dataset management.

• Ability to analyze problems, explore alternatives, and make technical decisions within your area of responsibility.

• Autonomy to manage challenges from start to finish.

• Proactivity in anticipating problems and proposing enhancements.

• Analytical thinking to investigate, identify causes, and develop solutions.

• Results-oriented, with a focus on quality, availability, and efficiency.

• Willingness to share knowledge and collaborate on solutions with the team.
