This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +2 more states.
β’ Assist in both synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions utilizing Class Zoom.
β’ Evaluate assignments and deliver timely, high-quality, personalized feedback.
β’ Maintain regular communication with students and teachers to revise pacing plans and schedules.
β’ Utilize data to track assignment completion and encourage student engagement.
β’ Review curriculum and adjust courses for students who require IEP or 504 accommodations.
β’ Create alternative enrichment activities and lesson adjustments for students facing challenges or at risk.
β’ Keep a broad understanding of the curriculum along with in-depth knowledge of assigned courses.
β’ Interact with students via phone, chat, and WebMail.
β’ Safeguard student well-being and personal information while adhering to FERPA and Copyright & Fair Use regulations.
β’ Update student performance and participation records regularly.
β’ Record contacts with students and parents.
β’ Maintain regular office hours for at least 3 hours weekly.
β’ Leverage online communication tools to foster relationships and enhance student success.
β’ Cultivate a welcoming and supportive online community for students and their families.
β’ Participate in supervisor check-in meetings twice monthly or as scheduled.
β’ Carry out additional duties as assigned.
β’ Must be highly qualified and certified to teach Science.
β’ Possess a valid state teaching certificate in TX, MI, or PA.
β’ Completed a traditional teacher preparation program; alternative certification is not acceptable.
β’ Hold a Bachelor's degree.
β’ Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
β’ Capability to obtain certification in other states as needed.
β’ Provide timely feedback to students and grade assignments within required deadlines.
β’ Attend supervisor check-in meetings twice monthly or as scheduled.
β’ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that demands flexibility, prioritization, self-direction, and creativity.
β’ Familiarity with IEP/504 plans in a virtual context.
β’ Strong technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office programs or Google Apps is preferred.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
β’ Keen attention to detail.
β’ Strong organizational and time management skills.
