This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Assist in enhancing the instructional program through both synchronous and asynchronous web-conferencing sessions via Class Zoom.
• Evaluate assignments and deliver timely, high-quality, personalized feedback.
• Maintain regular communication with students and teachers to adjust pacing plans and schedules as needed.
• Utilize data to track assignment completion and promote student engagement.
• Examine the curriculum and identify necessary modifications for students with IEP or 504 accommodations.
• Collaborate with team members and administrators to create alternative enrichment activities and lesson adaptations.
• Retain comprehensive curriculum knowledge as well as a thorough understanding of assigned courses.
• Interact with students through phone, chat, and WebMail platforms.
• Safeguard student welfare and personal information in compliance with FERPA and Copyright & Fair Use regulations.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and participation, including grading assessments and documenting interactions with students and parents.
• Conduct regular office hours for a minimum of 3 hours each week.
• Leverage online communication tools to cultivate relationships and support student success.
• Create a welcoming and nurturing online environment for students and their families.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Must be highly qualified and certified to teach Japanese, holding a valid teaching certificate in Washington.
• Completion of a traditional teacher preparation program (not alternative certification) from an accredited college or university is required.
• A Bachelor's degree is necessary.
• Capability to obtain certification in other states upon request.
• Deliver timely feedback to students and grade assessments within set deadlines.
• Participate in bi-monthly check-in meetings with your supervisor (or as scheduled).
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that demands flexibility, prioritization, self-direction, and creativity.
• Familiarity with IEP/504 plans and their virtual implementation.
• Strong technological proficiency; familiarity with Microsoft Office programs or Google Apps is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• High attention to detail along with strong time management and organizational skills.
• A customer-focused mindset and dedication to student success are essential.
