Adjunct Faculty, Public Safety

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create a learning environment focused on student success.

• Instruct synchronous or asynchronous 10-week seminars as assigned.

• Maintain designated virtual office hours for each course.

• Manage and promptly respond to electronic communications.

• Facilitate message board discussions and engage students with relevant coursework.

• Collaborate with Academic Advisors to address student issues.

• Refer accommodation requests to Student Accessibility Services and adhere to communicated accommodations.

• Accurately maintain and submit student grade and progress reports in a timely manner.

• Deliver mid-term and final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.

• Uphold student conduct policies.

• Attend University, departmental, and faculty meetings when requested.

• Stay updated with relevant technology trends and advancements in the program.

• Engage in professional development and may participate in faculty governance, curriculum-related work, and additional service activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a graduate degree with at least eighteen graduate credit hours in law enforcement administration, probation & juvenile corrections, or a closely related area.

• Have 1-3 years of relevant practical/professional experience and/or training.

• Previous experience in law enforcement investigation and supervision is required.

• Must have prior online teaching experience in a virtual (asynchronous) setting.

• Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications are essential.

• Ability to work efficiently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities are necessary.

• Unofficial transcript required at the time of application; official transcript is needed if hired.

• A background check is mandatory for employment.

• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
