Adjunct Faculty – Introduction to American Politics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver an educational experience in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab under the guidance of the Dean of General Education.

• Employ lectures, demonstrations, audiovisual tools, and technological resources.

• Adhere to the prescribed curriculum/syllabus while ensuring student engagement.

• Foster a positive learning environment and articulate clear learning objectives.

• Achieve course and institution-wide student performance targets.

• Manage student conduct both online and in the classroom.

• Observe and assess student performance.

• Identify at-risk students and refer them to the Student Success Coordinator.

• Offer student advisement and academic support through tutoring and mentoring.

• Evaluate tests and projects, maintain grade records, track attendance, and handle administrative tasks.

• Conduct oral, written, or performance assessments.

• Engage in conferences, seminars, training sessions, educational in-services, distance education in-service, and professional development activities.

• Contribute to academic committees.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is required.

• At least 15 credit hours or equivalent in the relevant subject area is necessary.

• In Georgia, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia: a Master's degree in the discipline OR a Master's degree in any field with 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework pertinent to the discipline.

• Two years of practical experience in the content area with a related degree, or three years of practical experience if the degree is in an unrelated field is required.

• A minimum of three years of experience as an educator is preferred.

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
