Adjunct Faculty, Biology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Instruct and facilitate impactful learning to achieve course outcomes.

• Support all aspects of the learning environment while promoting student achievement.

• Design and implement instruction that aligns with South University's curricula and delivery model.

• Create instructional plans and activities that reinforce lesson objectives.

• Deliver approved instruction within online course formats for online classes.

• Utilize technology in the classroom to enhance student learning.

• Establish criteria for student performance and assess learning outcomes.

• Plan and prepare classes, encouraging student participation.

• Maintain precise records and submit grades and reports punctually.

• Enforce academic and attendance policies.

• Connect professional, life, and industry experiences to course learning.

• Engage in ongoing professional and technical skill development while keeping abreast of industry trends.

• Participate in faculty development, curriculum and system task forces, campus events, workshops, and meetings.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, faculty, and administrators at South University.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral or master's degree in the teaching discipline, or a master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline, including a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours for applicable undergraduate/general education/transfer/baccalaureate courses.

• Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline, or an associate's degree with demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline, applicable for associate degree courses not intended for transfer.

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related field for graduate and post-baccalaureate coursework.

• Master's degree in the teaching discipline or 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline for graduate teaching assistants.

• Experience in instruction or a structured educational process, preferably within a post-secondary or collegiate setting.

• Active, valid, and unencumbered state licensure or certification as required by the discipline.

• Preferred: At least six months of teaching experience at South University or another post-secondary education institution, with online experience being a plus for online-only roles.

• Willingness to engage in an accelerated online learning format with students five out of seven days per week for online positions.

• Willingness to attend necessary departmental meetings for online positions.

• Preferred: Membership in a professional association relevant to the area of instruction.
