This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
β’ Support initiatives related to health insurance, long-term care insurance, and/or predictive modeling for the Minneapolis Health and Life division.
β’ Utilize data processing and actuarial modeling software to meet client requirements.
β’ Employ spreadsheets, databases, and other tools to cleanse, synthesize, and analyze data and information.
β’ Convey findings to colleagues and project leaders.
β’ Evaluate the work of peers.
β’ Create and maintain project documentation.
β’ Aid in research and business development efforts.
β’ Work with healthcare data using various software applications.
β’ Balance independent tasks with collaboration among analysts, actuaries, and subject matter experts.
β’ A minimum current GPA of 3.0; candidates with a GPA of 3.5 or higher will be preferred.
β’ Currently pursuing a degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
β’ Familiarity with spreadsheet and word processing software.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
β’ Proficient verbal and written communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail.
β’ Quick learner of existing processes.
β’ Capability to apply knowledge and concepts to diverse tasks.
β’ Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
β’ Completion of at least one actuarial exam is preferred.
β’ Experience with healthcare or health data is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with database applications such as Access and VBA is preferred.
β’ Experience with computer and statistical programming using SAS, Python, and/or R is preferred.
β’ Knowledge of cloud computing is preferred.
β’ Ability to work independently is preferred.
β’ Must be set to graduate within 12 months after the internship from an accredited university is preferred.
β’ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future.
