Actuary, Pricing – Individual MA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement pricing strategies for Medicare Advantage products

• Determine pricing assumptions

• Prepare and submit proposals

• Assist with regulatory rate filings and certifications

• Aid in the implementation of rates, new plans, and benefit modifications

• Provide guidance to Product Development on the cost implications of new products and benefits

• Create and sustain pricing tools for both standard and tailored offerings

• Set financial metrics at the market level that align with segment profitability objectives

• Evaluate outcomes and forecasts and recommend pricing strategies

• Oversee forecasting cycles in accordance with government timelines

• Identify underlying causes and generate actionable insights using market forecasts and experience-data tools

• Keep track of the competitive landscape

• Collaborate with market partners to foster profitable membership expansion

• Provide actuarial certifications for rate filings and ensure compliance with state and federal rating and benefit regulations

• Counsel executives on significant, segment-specific functional strategies

• Report to the Director of Actuarial Pricing

• Occasionally travel to Humana offices for training or meetings

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree

• FSA or ASA alongside a relevant advanced degree, recent applicable work experience, and/or other pertinent professional certifications

• MAAA

• Proven ability to communicate ideas effectively in both written and verbal forms

• Experience across more than two functions, such as modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving, or trending

• Flexibility to adapt to a work schedule according to Eastern Time Zone (EST)

• Home internet with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed

• A dedicated workspace free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information
