Actuarial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +10 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct data analysis utilizing Excel, SAS, and proprietary Milliman software.

• Support consulting efforts across various health insurance domains, including Commercial / ACA, Medicare, Behavioral Health, Risk Adjustment, and Dental.

• Evaluate data and perform actuarial calculations.

• Create and apply actuarial models.

• Execute software solutions.

• Collaborate with consultants, project managers, analysts, and interns on project teams.

• Assist in delivering client reports and other outputs.

• Acquire and deepen knowledge of actuarial principles and software tools, including Microsoft Excel, VBA, Databricks, and SAS.

• Contribute to business development initiatives.

• Advance through actuarial examinations with the necessary study time supported and expected.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with quantitative coursework.

• At least one exam passed from the Society of Actuaries.

• Strong grasp of fundamental actuarial concepts.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with a statistical analysis programming language (SAS, R, SQL, or Python).

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational capabilities with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

• Effective time management skills.

• Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Client-focused with a results-oriented mindset.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future.

• Previous internship or work experience in an actuarial firm performing data analysis is preferred.
