This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
• Manage and deliver educational programs within the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program.
• Coordinate CPE units and work alongside chaplains to meet the spiritual care needs of patients, families, staff, and CPE students.
• Offer spiritual care and emotional support in times of illness, crisis, loss, and death.
• Encourage teamwork and foster effective relational dynamics among the chaplaincy team.
• Address performance-related issues of CPE students and implement disciplinary action plans as necessary.
• Facilitate communication between clinical leadership and the chaplaincy team.
• Engage in strategic planning, departmental initiatives, market planning, mission goals, KPI implementation, reporting, and committee work.
• Create professional development resources for chaplains and Spiritual Health Services.
• Organize and structure CPE unit seminars and individual sessions.
• Design and implement CPE units in accordance with ACPE standards and Catholic healthcare directives.
• Recruit, schedule, and oversee on-site and online CPE programs.
• Supervise student admissions, orientations, clinical work, scheduling, performance reviews, and clinical assignments.
• Establish and lead the Professional Advisory Group, focusing on accreditation, curriculum, evaluation, financial sustainability, and program operations.
• Manage CPE program finances and prepare the annual budget.
• Organize clinical placements and keep site-specific handbooks updated.
• Conduct site visits as mandated by ACPE standards.
• Mentor CPE students in collaboration with staff chaplains.
• Oversee marketing, advertising, and student recruitment for the CPE program.
• Uphold accreditation standards and enhance CPE within the organization.
• Provide necessary Medicare reimbursement data to the Finance department.
• Maintain chaplain and ACPE Certified Educator certifications through ongoing education.
• Perform Chaplain III functions as required and undertake other assigned responsibilities.
• ACPE Certified Educator or Certified Educator Candidate (mandatory).
• Official documentation of faith community endorsement by representatives reflecting good standing as per the candidate's faith or spiritual tradition (mandatory).
• A Master’s degree in Theology or Pastoral Studies (mandatory).
• A minimum of four years of progressive experience as a Chaplain (mandatory).
• Capability to retain certification as a chaplain and ACPE Certified Educator.
• Familiarity with the Ethical and Religious Directives of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• 1–2 years of experience in a leadership role (preferred).
• Completion of the Chaplain Leader Program (preferred).
• Ability to provide pastoral support that aligns with patients' cultures, values, and belief systems.
• Knowledge and application of clinical pastoral care, pastoral counseling, crisis management, healthcare ethics, interfaith dialogue, spiritual care assessments, theological reflection, medical ethics, Catholic social teaching, and advanced medical directives.
• Capability to lead and coordinate prayer and worship services.
• Proficiency in teaching diverse theological and ecclesiological concepts.
• Skills in leadership, content development, corrective actions, operations management, scheduling, strategic planning, and performance evaluation.
