This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage daily billing processes, address claims issues, denials, and follow up for designated regions or locations.
• Investigate, pinpoint, and correct factors contributing to delays in account submission or payment.
• Proactively communicate accounts receivable concerns to management to uphold compliance and precision.
• Determine reasons for claim denials and resolve them with minimal guidance.
• Assess issues and report on denial and payer trends.
• Follow up on outstanding claims within established billing cycle timelines.
• Prepare and submit corrected or replacement claims, reconsiderations, appeals, medical documentation, and other essential payer documents via fax and provider portals.
• Make outbound calls to payers to address claims and payment issues.
• Ensure patient medical information is accurate and current.
• Meet productivity standards set by the organization and external benchmarks.
• Provide reports and communicate accounts receivable concerns to the team lead.
• Utilize the billing system to document patient accounts with proper grammar, spelling, and syntax.
• Offer administrative support, including assistance for internal and external audits.
• Stay updated on payer policies and guidelines.
• Execute additional assigned tasks and projects.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Education in medical billing or possession of medical billing certification is preferred.
• Experience with Mod Med/EMA practice management system is advantageous.
• Familiarity with basic principles of revenue cycle, accounts receivables, denial management, and coding (CPT/HCPCS/ICD10).
• Must exhibit a high level of professionalism and be an effective communicator.
• Detail-oriented, results-driven self-starter with a positive demeanor.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a remote working environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt swiftly in a dynamic setting.
• Capability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality regarding medical information.
