This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Gather outstanding accounts receivable from both government and commercial third-party payers
• Reach out to insurance companies to inquire about the status of pending claims
• Process and follow up on insurance appeals as necessary
• Re-submit claims when required
• Handle daily correspondence
• Maintain a fundamental level of proficiency in spreadsheet applications
• Review adjustment requests and execute them when appropriate
• Address manual accounts receivable follow-up tasks
• Manage outstanding accounts receivable from designated work queues
• Achieve department productivity benchmarks
• Keep an accuracy rating of at least 97% on audited accounts
• Uphold strict confidentiality standards
• Become a subject matter expert across various workflows and payers
• Identify and report trends to leadership
• Perform other assigned responsibilities
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred
• 1–3 years of professional or healthcare experience is preferred
• 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable is preferred
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Basic mathematical skills for calculating anesthesia units, ensuring proper reimbursement, and determining percentages for adjustments
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Advanced knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
• Understanding of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines
• High-accuracy data entry capabilities
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and ASA coding systems
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and reporting abilities
• Capability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external clients
• Ability to collaborate as part of a team as well as work independently with minimal supervision
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams
