Accounts Receivable Claims Specialist – Part-Time, 20-29 hours weekly

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with payors to address both partial and complete payment denials.

• Keep up-to-date with payer policies and coverage regulations.

• Detect payment denials via the work queue and take necessary steps to resolve them.

• Professionally communicate with providers when needed to rectify denied claims.

• Resubmit amended claims in accordance with payor policies or provider instructions.

• Appeal claim denials with the required documentation to ensure proper claim adjudication.

• Remain informed about accurate appeal procedures for designated payors.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent.

• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in medical billing.

• Proficiency with practice management systems and EHR platforms.

• Understanding of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding.

• Strong knowledge of various medical insurance plans (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare).

• Familiarity with fundamental medical coding and third-party operational procedures and practices.

• Competence in Microsoft applications, particularly Word and Excel.

• Outstanding communication and customer service abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to confidently engage with patients.

• Exceptional organizational skills for managing multiple tasks throughout the day.

• Capability to operate a multi-line telephone system.

• Ability to function effectively as a team player within a cohesive medical practice.

• Proficient in communicating and collaborating well with colleagues.

• Competence in effectively conveying information both orally and in writing to internal and external business professionals.

• Must demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and the ability to perform job functions effectively.
