This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Analyze collections, resolve non-payable issues, and manage complex billing inquiries.
• Follow up on claim denials and rejections to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Timely process assigned accounts receivable work lists.
• Write and manage appeals for claim denials.
• Identify and address denied, unpaid, and non-adjudicated claims and billing discrepancies.
• Recommend accounts for write-off via Adjustment Requests.
• Report changes in address and filing rules to the manager.
• Check systems for any missing payments.
• Accurately notate patient accounts.
• Review correspondence to identify specific issues.
• Research patient accounts and determine the appropriate follow-up steps.
• Scan correspondence and index it to the corresponding account.
• Conduct inbound and outbound follow-up calls as necessary.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding outstanding claims.
• Achieve established production and quality standards.
• Undertake special projects and other assigned tasks.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of one (1) year in data entry and one (1) year in medical billing and claims resolution preferred.
• AAHAM and/or HFMA certification is preferred.
• Experience with offshore engagement and collaboration is desirable.
• Intermediate understanding of medical billing regulations, including coordination of benefits, modifiers, Medicare, and Medicaid, as well as familiarity with EOBs.
• Ability to become proficient in billing software within 5 weeks and maintain that proficiency.
• Capability to read, comprehend, and apply state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
• Skill in communicating with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner.
• Ability to adapt and work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Basic proficiency in using a computer, telephone, internet, copier, fax, and scanner.
• Basic touch 10-key skills.
• Fundamental math skills.
• Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel (including pivot tables), and database software.
