Accounts Receivable, Collections Specialist

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of client accounts and ensure the prompt collection of outstanding receivables.

• Analyze and address complex payment challenges, including unapplied cash, short payments, disputed invoices, billing discrepancies, purchase order concerns, and account reconciliation items.

• Investigate unapplied customer payments by reviewing remittances, invoices, contracts, customer communications, and payment history.

• Take ownership of issues from identification to resolution, ensuring timely follow-up with customers and internal stakeholders.

• Negotiate payment arrangements while fostering positive relationships with customers.

• Record collection activities and customer interactions in NetSuite and related systems.

• Collaborate with Billing, Revenue, Customer Success, Sales, Support, and Finance teams to resolve payment issues.

• Coordinate internally to eliminate barriers that hinder invoice payment.

• Escalate high-risk accounts and propose actionable solutions.

• Analyze aging trends, unapplied cash, and recurring collection challenges to pinpoint root causes.

• Suggest enhancements to collection efficiency and mitigate future payment issues.

• Maintain standardized procedures and documentation for collections.

• Assist in process improvements related to payment resolution and cash application.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in B2B accounts receivable and commercial collections.

• Capability to independently research and resolve complex AR issues.

• Strong analytical and reconciliation capabilities.

• Proficiency in identifying root causes of payment discrepancies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal teams and external customers.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong organizational skills coupled with exceptional attention to detail.

• Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Preferred: Experience in SaaS or subscription-based businesses.

• Preferred: Familiarity with NetSuite.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Salesforce.

• Preferred: Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Preferred: Background in mentoring junior or offshore team members.
