Accounting Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee, guide, and cultivate a team of accountants responsible for month-end closures, financial statements, analysis, and general accounting operations.

• Assign work tasks, set priorities, and manage team workloads to ensure deadlines are met while maintaining precision and quality standards.

• Conduct performance assessments, set objectives, and hold team members accountable for both individual and departmental goals.

• Guarantee timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.

• Act as a technical accounting expert on intricate accounting matters, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

• Execute or oversee special initiatives and process enhancements, particularly complex reconciliations and associated tasks.

• Pursue and disseminate knowledge to adopt best practices and boost team productivity.

• Propel continuous process enhancement by identifying inefficiencies, implementing solutions, and advocating for best practices.

• Address management inquiries regarding financial outcomes and special reporting needs.

• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager, Controller, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, enhance workflows, and support business objectives.

• Mentor and lead efforts to attract, nurture, and retain team talent.

• Monitor performance of team members and recommend or ensure both on-the-job and formal development opportunities.

• Cultivate a positive and collaborative team culture that emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.

• Execute accounting tasks in an office setting utilizing computers, telephones, and other office equipment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

• A minimum of five years of prior accounting experience with a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end closure processes is required.

• At least three years of direct leadership or supervisory experience, encompassing coaching, performance management, and employee development.

• Workday experience is preferred, though not mandatory.

• Strong analytical abilities, capable of researching, interpreting, and resolving complex accounting challenges.

• Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.

• High attention to detail and outstanding problem-solving capabilities.

• Self-driven individual dedicated to continuous improvement and team success.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with the accounting team and management.

• Proven ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and a willingness to work flexible and/or extended hours as necessary to fulfill job requirements.

• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
