Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute accounting tasks utilizing QuickBooks Online and various other platforms.

• Assess the implications of accounting transactions under both accrual and cash basis accounting.

• Draft initial versions of monthly financial statements.

• Oversee the month-end closing procedures.

• Manage supporting schedules for the balance sheet, including prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, fixed asset schedules, and payroll liability reconciliations.

• Prepare and enter month-end journal entries.

• Carry out full-cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable responsibilities.

• Prepare and review payroll processes.

• Prepare and evaluate sales tax submissions.

• Act as the main point of contact for clients.

• Review the work of team members and assist the Controller in mentoring and training less experienced colleagues.

• Implement new technology integrations and resolve related issues.

• Collaborate with vendors and platforms to execute accounting operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.

• Experience managing more than 5 clients/entities across diverse industries in providing bookkeeping or accounting services.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or possession of a bookkeeping certification.

• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online.

• Expertise in accrual accounting, consolidated financial statements, revenue recognition, and month-end closing processes.

• Capability to assess the impact of accounting transactions under both accrual and cash basis.

• Strong analytical thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and sound independent judgment.

• Outstanding attention to detail coupled with the ability to handle multiple tasks and complete projects within designated timeframes.

• Comfortable using tools and technology to collaborate effectively with remote team members.

• Must reside in an established state: Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, or Minnesota.
