This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Record financial transactions in the general ledger.
• Reconcile and analyze accounts in the general ledger along with supplementary financial schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and the distribution of letters to members.
• Process and oversee transactions related to travel, entertainment, purchase orders, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Ensure the timely and accurate application of cash receipts and disbursements.
• Assist with tax filings and the maintenance of tax schedules in collaboration with tax advisors.
• Process and review payroll utilizing Bamboo HR payroll services in conjunction with HR.
• Organize and manage customer and vendor contracts, lease agreements, and schedules.
• Match vendor invoices to contracts and verify charges in accordance with agreed terms.
• Maintain schedules for fixed assets, deferred revenue, and capitalized costs.
• Provide analyses related to cash flow, expenses, and ad hoc requests.
• Identify risks within financial statements and develop or enhance key controls to mitigate them.
• Update accounting process documentation and assist in streamlining or automating processes.
• Research and document accounting policies.
• Collaborate with the Controller, accounting staff, and other departments.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with staff, customers, vendors, auditors, and advisors.
• Eagerness to learn and implement new processes and systems.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Proficiency in gathering and analyzing information to develop alternative solutions.
• Capacity to balance team and individual responsibilities in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with AI, NetSuite, Concur T&E, and Convergent is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting/finance.
• Certified Public Accountant designation or successful completion of CPA exam parts is a plus.
