This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• As a key member of a regional sales team, you will have the chance to take ownership of your territory, oversee the complete sales lifecycle, and cultivate new business relationships that introduce Newsela’s solutions to classrooms.
• Take charge of creating territory business plans, assessing funding landscapes, and customizing sales strategies to align with district initiatives.
• In addition to meeting your own revenue objectives, you will collaborate with a passionate, cross-functional team to accelerate Newsela’s growth as we expand our national sales organization.
• Engage in face-to-face meetings with school and district leaders, presenting solutions, negotiating terms, and securing agreements that facilitate the integration of Newsela into classrooms.
• Play a pivotal role in the growth and adoption of Newsela products, which will ultimately enhance our ability to deliver engaging, culturally responsive learning content to K-12 classrooms across the nation.
• Excel in a position that demands substantial autonomy, representing the company in the market, making recommendations that influence strategy and results, and independently managing priorities.
• Utilize discretion and independent judgment on significant matters, including assessing customer needs, structuring customized solutions, negotiating within established parameters, and influencing revenue and business outcomes.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience achieving or exceeding substantial sales quotas in the K-12 EdTech sector is required.
• Previous experience as an ELA or Social Studies teacher/instructional coach (or a solid understanding of K-12 pedagogy) is preferred to effectively link classroom challenges with the solutions Newsela provides.
• Proven experience as a strategic territory manager with the executive presence to lead consultative district discussions, navigate multiple stakeholders, and engineer tailored solutions for each client.
• Experience in high-volume district sales, with a demonstrated ability to build a book of business from the ground up.
• A self-motivated individual with a track record of driving sales rapidly to closure and thriving in a dynamic environment.
• Highly organized, adaptable to change, a quick learner who hits the ground running, upholds high service standards, and meets established sales targets in an agile setting.
• Enthusiastic about opportunities to meet customers and prospects in person. Travel is expected to be approximately 15% (likely a few times per quarter), based on business and customer requirements.
• Familiarity with using AI tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
