Account Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Sales team to enhance new business acquisition, ensure account retention, facilitate managed care conversions, and expand existing client relationships.

• Address inquiries from clients and brokers by liaising with internal departments and business partners.

• Investigate and resolve intricate service-related challenges while providing guidance on products, benefits, policies, and procedures.

• Assist in the processing and administration of documentation related to account prospecting, enrollment, modifications, and terminations.

• Ensure the accuracy of account records and group administration data.

• Oversee the implementation of new groups, renewals, and account conversions.

• Analyze service issues across functions and identify opportunities for process enhancements.

• Collect, verify, and validate information from members, brokers, and employer groups.

• Build and sustain relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, brokers, and external partners.

• Carry out additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

• At least one (1) year of experience in health insurance, life insurance, group benefits, or customer service.

• A New Jersey State Health and Life Insurance License, or the capability to obtain the license within three (3) months of starting employment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Experience using customer relationship management (CRM), applicant tracking, or insurance-related systems.

• Competence with internet- and intranet-based applications.

• Preferred knowledge of group health insurance products, managed care plans, and industry practices.

• Familiarity with Horizon BCBSNJ products, services, and underwriting guidelines is an advantage.

• Experience in supporting group health insurance products and managed care plans.

• Background in working with brokers, employer groups, or insurance account administration.
