Academic Coach, ACT/SAT, Humanities

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Guide students through academic challenges in personalized one-on-one sessions.

• Provide mentorship to boost students' confidence and motivation while fostering academic development.

• Collaborate with students and their families to enhance academic and executive functioning skills.

• Cultivate sustainable study habits and executive functioning abilities, such as time management, self-directed practice, and reflection.

• Ensure timely communication with students.

• Participate in biweekly internal meetings with colleagues and supervisors.

• Keep detailed records of all interactions with students.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Required).

• Strong understanding of the standardized testing process for ACT/SAT.

• Proven experience in assisting students to excel in the ACT and SAT.

• Solid knowledge of high school Humanities subjects (English, Social Studies, Social Science).

• Familiarity or experience with AP and/or IB coursework.

• Experience in establishing structure and accountability habits with students, not just delivering content.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Background in working with high school or college-aged students.

• Self-motivated with the ability to meet strict deadlines in a remote work setting.

• Proficient with Google Docs.

• Availability to work 10–20 hours per week.

• Capability to work at least three weekday evenings and one weekend day, primarily between 3pm–10pm CST or during weekends.

• Provision of remote work equipment, including a laptop with reliable internet access, an iPad or similar device for writing on screen, and a professional video background.
