This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist with zoning due diligence projects centered around commercial real estate transactions.
• Conduct thorough research on property specifics, zoning designations, and local regulations.
• Submit Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to municipal authorities across the country.
• Work in conjunction with Zoning Project Managers to provide precise and timely information that aids critical site analysis.
• Investigate property data available from assessor websites and publicly accessible GIS Maps.
• Handle FOIA submissions to Local, County, and State Agencies.
• Request and secure copies of municipal documents like site plans, surveys, variances, and conditional/special use permits.
• Collaborate with Zoning Project Managers to verify accurate property information.
• Coordinate with municipal departments to gather details on any outstanding code violations associated with the Subject Property.
• Manage payments for copies of the municipal documents or information requested through the FOIA process.
• Track and oversee a list of follow-up tasks to ensure all requested documents and information are received from municipalities.
• Stay updated with industry best practices related to property research.
• Maintain detailed databases of municipal contacts.
• Prior experience in zoning research is preferred.
• Highly organized with exceptional time management and multitasking abilities.
• Must be a proactive self-starter, resourceful, and capable of working efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and familiar with basic GIS Mapping websites.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; personable and able to engage with individuals at all levels.
• Understanding of municipal government operations and the ability to foster relationships with municipal officials and regulatory bodies.
