YouTube Scriptwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Produce a minimum of two long-form scripts each month, generally ranging from 8 to 10 minutes in length.

• Occasionally create Shorts in the voice of Mr. Spherical.

• Propose narratives focusing on history, geopolitics, and global events.

• Generate concepts both autonomously and in collaboration with the Creative Director.

• Conduct research on stories and ensure the accuracy of content.

• Maintain essential context while integrating humor effectively.

• Craft character-driven scenes featuring sharp dialogue and visual comedy.

• Engage viewers from the outset and sustain story momentum.

• Design setups that lead to satisfying payoffs and conclusions that unify the narrative.

• Collaborate on notes and revisions with the Creative Director.

• Incorporate guidance and feedback to achieve final approval.

• Proven experience in writing long-form YouTube videos, supported by relevant samples.

• Exceptional skills in comedy, character writing, and storytelling.

• Familiarity with YouTube pacing and techniques for audience retention.

• Capability to research unfamiliar topics in history, geopolitics, and current events.

• Proficiency in fact-checking and managing sensitive subjects.

• Ability to transform research into clear and engaging narratives.

• Comfort in taking ownership of scripts from initial pitch to revisions.

• Commitment to meeting agreed-upon deadlines.

• Proven track record of work that has garnered hundreds of thousands or millions of views, along with the ability to articulate what contributed to its success.

• Experience in history or geopolitics is advantageous.

• Emphasis on strong comedy and character-driven storytelling is essential.
