YouTube Scriptwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create a minimum of two long-form scripts each month, usually lasting 8–10 minutes.

• Occasionally draft Shorts in the voice of Mr. Spherical.

• Propose narratives centered around history, geopolitics, and global events.

• Cultivate story concepts provided by the Creative Director.

• Conduct thorough research and fact-checking while maintaining essential context.

• Craft character-driven scenes featuring sharp dialogue and visual humor.

• Engage viewers from the outset, sustain the narrative's pace, and deliver satisfying conclusions.

• Create setups that yield payoffs and conclusions that unify the story.

• Collaborate with the Creative Director on notes and revisions.

• Implement guidance and feedback to secure final approval.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in writing long-form YouTube videos, with samples to present.

• Strong skills in comedy, character development, and storytelling.

• Familiarity with YouTube pacing and audience engagement strategies.

• Capability to research unfamiliar topics related to history, geopolitics, and current events.

• Proficiency in fact-checking and managing sensitive subjects.

• Ability to transform research into compelling and clear narratives.

• Comfort in taking ownership of scripts from initial pitch through revisions.

• Capacity to adhere to agreed-upon deadlines.

• Previous experience generating content that has garnered hundreds of thousands or millions of views, with insights on its success.

• Strong background in comedy and character-focused storytelling; experience in history or geopolitics is a plus.
