Working Student Designer – Design System

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the scalable, code-aligned design system at Heartbeat AI.

• Ensure consistency within the design system across the Heartbeat platform.

• Conduct audits, organize, and document components, tokens, and UI patterns.

• Assist designers and engineers by providing reusable building blocks that facilitate smoother handoff.

• Utilize AI and contemporary tools such as Figma, Claude, and Cursor for exploration, documentation, and iteration.

• Collaborate with designers and engineers, ask insightful questions, and make decision-making straightforward.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX, Interaction Design, HCI, Visual Communication, or a related area.

• Curious about systems and mindful of how components, tokens, and naming conventions scale.

• Self-sufficient: capable of identifying gaps, proposing actionable next steps, and following through.

• Thoughtful in approach to design system architecture.

• Eager to learn and discover innovative solutions to overcome challenges.

• Interested in AI and able to showcase its application or intended use in the workflow.

• Craft-oriented, with an emphasis on quality in visual design, interaction, and consistency.

• Academic projects are encouraged.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Proficient in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.

• Experience or skills in design systems, UI craftsmanship, documentation, AI-assisted workflows, and teamwork.

• Familiarity with Figma and either Claude or Cursor.
