Working Student – AI Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development of Python applications that integrate large language models with data, APIs, and tools.

• Enhance and refine retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows, which encompass document processing, chunking, embeddings, and retrieval.

• Aid in the document intelligence pipelines that extract structured, source-linked information from intricate documents.

• Implement and evaluate agent workflows, incorporating tool usage and human verification steps.

• Generate evaluation datasets and assess answer quality, retrieval performance, latency, and costs.

• Introduce tests, logging, and comprehensive documentation to facilitate the operation and enhancement of AI applications.

• Collaborate with seasoned engineers.

• Engage throughout the application lifecycle, from experimentation and evaluation to deployment and monitoring.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, mathematics, or a related field.

• Proficient in Python with experience in APIs, JSON, and Git.

• Solid understanding of large language models and an eagerness to learn about the construction of AI applications.

• A meticulous approach to testing: you comprehend when a system is operational, when it fails, and the reasons behind it.

• Strong English communication skills.

• Involvement in a university or personal project that includes LLMs, RAG, embeddings, or AI agents.

• Familiarity with Amazon Bedrock, Claude, vector databases, FastAPI, Docker, or an AI application framework.

• Resume, field of study, expected graduation date, and weekly availability.

• Availability of 15–20 hours per week.
