Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Evaluate Lost-Time Workers Compensation claims in New Jersey on behalf of clients to ascertain the benefits owed.

• Maintain the continuous adjudication of claims in alignment with service expectations, industry standards, and client service requirements.

• Assess and manage claims through action plans to achieve timely resolutions.

• Investigate and collect information to evaluate claim exposure.

• Negotiate claim settlements within established authority limits.

• Communicate claim activities and processing updates to claimants and clients.

• Report claims to the excess carrier.

• Professionally and promptly respond to requests for guidance.

• Provide customer-facing solutions to clients across various industries.

• Utilize Sedgwick's global network of experts to gain and share insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.

• Professional certification relevant to the area of business is preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Familiarity with jurisdiction: NJ.

• Ability to think clearly and conceptually.

• Strong judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical skills, and discretion.

• Capability to manage work-related stress.

• Proficiency in handling multiple priorities at once.

• Ability to meet deadlines effectively.

• Proficient in computer keyboarding skills.

• Ability to hear, see, and communicate effectively.
