Web Server Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, manage, patch, and resolve issues with Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, and NGINX on Linux systems.

• Set up and provide support for reverse proxies, virtual hosts, load balancing, SSL/TLS, redirects, and application routing.

• Diagnose web and application problems across Linux, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, firewalls, certificates, and backend connectivity.

• Conduct performance tuning and root cause analysis using server, application, and JVM logs.

• Manage RHEL systems, including services, permissions, networking, packages, logging, and security hardening.

• Implement DISA STIG / DoD RMF security requirements and address vulnerabilities.

• Provide support for production environments and take part in an on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• An active Top Secret clearance is mandatory.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, DevOps Engineering, or a related discipline is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux, web server, or application server administration is essential.

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, and NGINX is necessary.

• In-depth knowledge of reverse proxying, SSL/TLS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancing, and web server configuration is required.

• Experience in troubleshooting Tomcat/JVM, Apache, NGINX, Linux, and network connectivity issues is expected.

• Proficiency in RHEL/Linux command-line and system administration is crucial.

• Familiarity with DISA STIG, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation is important.

• Experience with Bash scripting and automation is preferred.

• CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
