This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Lead the execution of C4F's watershed resilience initiative for the Great Salt Lake Basin and facilitate the scaling of lessons learned across Utah and other western states.
• Manage relationships with partners in Utah, including utilities, state and federal agencies, Tribes, NGOs, universities, consultants, and local governments.
• Transition restoration projects from concept to execution by coordinating work plans, deliverables, funding strategies, and partner engagement.
• Represent WRI in regional collaborations, steering committees, and partner meetings.
• Identify and engage beneficiaries and investors to secure funding for forest and watershed resilience.
• Support innovative conservation finance strategies, encompassing Forest Resilience Bonds, revolving loans, endowments, green bonds, and local revenue streams.
• Convert technical analyses into persuasive materials for utility executives, corporations, funders, and decision-makers.
• Assist with project budgets, work plans, agreements, monitoring, and reporting frameworks.
• Draft grant proposals and funding applications.
• Develop and maintain donor opportunities and relationships.
• Represent WRI and the Utah Resilience Fund at conferences, workshops, utility meetings, and stakeholder events.
• Create presentations, reports, case studies, and communication materials.
• Foster peer learning among Utah partners and national watershed initiatives.
• Contribute to publications, blogs, webinars, and other outreach activities.
• Master's degree or equivalent experience in natural resources or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience in developing and managing complex multi-stakeholder partnerships.
• Background in working with utilities, government agencies, conservation organizations, or watershed collaboratives is valued.
• Experience in securing grants, developing funding proposals, or managing fundraising initiatives.
• Understanding of watershed restoration, wildfire resilience, natural resource management, or water resource planning.
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Capable of working independently while managing diverse stakeholder relationships.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Greater Salt Lake region and occasionally to other locations in the U.S.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Utah's water, wildfire, forest, and watershed management landscape.
• Preferred: Experience with conservation finance, environmental finance, public-private partnerships, environmental markets, resilience funds, green bonds, revolving loan funds, or similar mechanisms.
• Preferred: Familiarity with watershed benefit modeling, economic valuation, risk assessment, or investment analysis.
• Preferred: Experience with natural resource, wildfire mitigation, forestry, or watershed resilience policy.
• Preferred: Experience with federal and state funding programs and partners.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting executive-level stakeholder engagement.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
