This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations for transportation corridors, bridge crossings, and drainage systems.

• Design hydraulic elements such as culverts, bridges, storm drain systems, and channel enhancements.

• Develop and implement 1D and 2D hydraulic models (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SRH-2D).

• Prepare drainage reports and floodplain documentation (CLOMR/LOMR, No-Rise).

• Perform scour analyses utilizing HEC-18, HEC-20, and HEC-23 guidelines.

• Collaborate with roadway, structural, and environmental teams.

• Review calculations, plans, and specifications to ensure quality and constructability.

• Assist with stormwater planning, feasibility studies, and system evaluations.

• Create technical memos and planning-level reports.

• Aid in project execution, including scope, schedule, and budget monitoring.

• Work in partnership with clients, agencies, and internal teams.

• Mentor junior engineers and technical personnel.

• Contribute to proposals and business development initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to secure one within 6 months.

• 4-6+ years of experience primarily focused on hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) and drainage design.

• Proficiency in industry-standard software (HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS, ORD-DU, Civil 3D, etc.).

• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with other team disciplines.

• Must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S.

• Certification as a Floodplain Manager (CFM) or actively pursuing certification (preferred).

• Experience in designing storm drains, ditches, and culverts for transportation projects (preferred).

• Familiarity with bridge hydraulics and scour analysis (preferred).

• Knowledge of stormwater regulations and compliance with state and local agency standards (preferred).
