This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• We are seeking a VP/Director of Wholesale to take full ownership of our client's wholesale operations while also managing Amazon as a vital secondary channel.
• This position is responsible for driving the commercial strategy, nurturing buyer relationships, and overseeing sell-in, sell-through, and joint business planning with Walmart, Academy, Dick's Sporting Goods, and other potential accounts we are actively targeting.
• You will establish the vision for how the Company engages with our wholesale partners.
• You will be accountable for revenue and margin objectives across the entire account portfolio.
• You serve as the primary contact for category managers and buying teams at our leading accounts.
• You will conduct line reviews, negotiate programs, manage promotional calendars, and handle escalations effectively.
• You will focus on prioritizing and finalizing the next phase of wholesale growth, which includes both accounts currently in the pipeline and new opportunities you discover.
• You will collaborate with buying teams on forecasting, replenishment, in-store execution, and post-mortem evaluations.
• You will work to minimize chargebacks, enhance fill rates, and establish the operational excellence that positions us as a preferred vendor for our partners.
• You will oversee our Amazon operations, including assortment strategy, content management, advertising effectiveness, and inventory planning.
• You will collaborate with sourcing on assortment and costing, with operations on S&OP and inventory management, with finance on pricing and margin strategies, and with product development on future wholesale offerings.
• 10-15+ years of experience in wholesale sales, with direct involvement in managing relationships with one or more of the following: Walmart, Academy, Dick's Sporting Goods, Target, Costco, or similar mass and sporting goods accounts.
• Preference for candidates with a background in fishing, hunting, outdoor, or related CPG categories.
• Proven history of securing and expanding major accounts.
• Strong operational fluency.
• Experience with Amazon as either an owner or senior operator, covering Seller Central/Vendor Central, advertising, and content strategy.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and take ownership of projects.
• Strong executive presence.
