This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.
• Take charge of and direct Navitus’ Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) strategy and management, which includes governance, performance oversight, compliance monitoring, and alignment with Navitus’ rebate and contracting goals.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise rebate strategy that ensures a balance between market competitiveness, clinical integrity, transparency, and optimal net cost outcomes for clients.
• Lead negotiations and strategic interactions with senior-level pharmaceutical manufacturers, ensuring that contracts, rebate frameworks, and guarantees are in alignment with Navitus’ long-term strategies, financial targets, and client obligations.
• Collaborate with executive counterparts across Clinical Services, Provider Services, Sales, Pricing, Finance, Compliance, and Analytics to guarantee cohesive strategy execution.
• Provide strategic guidance on pharmaceutical industry trends, the implications of rebate strategies, and associated market risks and opportunities.
• Oversee rebate and contracting analytics, which encompass market evaluations, financial modeling, pricing support, and guarantee formulation.
• Work with Sales, Pricing, and Finance teams to convert rebate and contracting strategies into competitive, compliant, and defensible pricing models for both current and prospective clients.
• Manage rebate financial frameworks, performance initiatives, and reimbursement mechanisms linked to manufacturer and GPO agreements.
• Ensure thorough contract interpretation, issue resolution, and escalation governance for rebate-related concerns throughout the organization.
• Develop analytics standards and insights that effectively communicate the value of Navitus’ contracting, rebate, and formulary strategies to clients and consultants.
• Keep a close watch on pharmaceutical market dynamics, competitive trends, pipeline advancements, and regulatory actions to proactively guide strategy and positioning.
• Act as the executive leader of the Formulary Advisory Committee, responsible for managing formulary financial performance.
• In collaboration with Clinical Services leadership, ensure that formulary recommendations are based on clinical evidence, market intelligence, client impact, and rebate factors while upholding independence and transparency.
• Establish benchmarks for formulary governance, documentation, and decision rationale; ensure compliance with requirements and Navitus’ clinical philosophy.
• Work alongside Clinical Services leadership to maintain a clear distinction between formulary governance and operational execution, while ensuring strong strategic alignment.
• Maintain an active role in industry forums, conferences, and working groups to enhance Navitus’ visibility, credibility, and influence.
• Serve as a senior external representative for Navitus in engagements with pharmaceutical manufacturers, industry organizations, coalitions, consultants, and important stakeholders.
• Build and lead high-performing teams focused on strategy, analytics, governance, and manufacturer engagement.
• Mentor and develop team members through coaching, feedback, and career planning, fostering a pipeline of future leaders and a culture centered on accountability and growth.
• Present emerging industry insights, regulatory changes, and innovative opportunities to executive leadership.
• Ensure all activities comply with Navitus’ compliance program, ethical standards, and regulatory responsibilities.
• Engage in, adhere to, and support compliance, people and culture, and learning initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is required.
• An MBA is preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in PBM or pharmacy trade is required.
• More than 10 years in a strategic leadership role within the healthcare or pharmacy sector is required.
• Proven leadership and negotiation skills are necessary.
• Experience in a successful PBM or managed care organization is preferred.
• Demonstrated background in new product development, product management, sales, marketing, strategic planning, and program execution for government initiatives is required.
• A strong history of measurable success, including leadership and the ability to build and manage relationships in a healthcare or related environment is essential.
• In-depth knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and/or Exchange and health plans is required.
• Preferred experience working with senior state government professionals.
• Ability to understand and communicate complex and often contradictory state and federal laws, regulations, or guidelines is required.
