VP, Programs – Behavioral Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the strategic development, implementation, and management of behavioral health programs and services throughout the Covenant House federation.

• Increase accessibility to behavioral health services, elevate the quality of care, enhance outcomes, and assist in interrupting the trajectories of youth homelessness.

• Collaborate with leaders at Covenant House sites and behavioral health teams.

• Forge partnerships with online therapy providers, community-based organizations, and specialized youth-service agencies.

• Assist sites in integrating on-site behavioral health services through staff roles or community collaborations.

• Broaden psychiatry and substance-use counseling services across the federation.

• Direct the Youth Support and Response Plan project and aid in the implementation of risk assessment and safety-planning protocols.

• Support the execution of evidence-based group treatment curricula.

• Create and initiate a pilot training program for clinicians in brief solution-focused therapy methods.

• Develop resources and best-practice guidance for staff working with specific youth sub-populations.

• Identify validated behavioral health screening tools for intake and risk-assessment processes.

• Establish and lead a learning community of behavioral health leads within the federation.

• Involve Covenant House youth in providing feedback on behavioral health programs, services, and supports.

• Train sites on risk assessment, safety planning, and screening protocols.

• Design training for front-line staff and oversee the federation's Youth Mental Health First Aid program.

• Collaborate on behavioral health grant proposals and reports, manage grant deliverables, and engage in fundraising activities.

• Construct standardized data collection and outcome measurement strategies.

• Assist in producing behavioral health data reports for grants and site quality enhancement.

• Meet quarterly with site behavioral health leads to review outcomes, exchange best practices, and pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Program Officer or SVP, Program.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a master’s degree in a clinical field is necessary.

• 10–15 years of experience in program leadership within behavioral health, ideally in youth homeless services.

• Proven experience in providing technical assistance and system-level leadership to affiliated or external behavioral health programs and providers.

• Demonstrated capacity to foster program development, acceptance, and execution across various sites or partners.

• Experience in developing and managing system-level partnerships.

• Proficiency in trauma-informed care and brief solution-focused therapies.

• Expertise in supporting LGBTQ+ youth, preferably within the youth homeless services domain.

• Outstanding project management, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Strong technical capabilities; familiarity with MS365 and SharePoint.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Experience in a multicultural environment.

• Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

• Knowledge of Smartsheet is preferred.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% within the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, and once a year to New York City.
