VP, Program Manager – Cloud Data Platform Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive delivery of a complex AWS cloud data transformation program involving multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.

• Manage the planning, execution, dependencies, risks, issues, milestones, and reporting to executives for the program.

• Coordinate the delivery efforts across data engineering, architecture, platform, governance, analytics, business, and vendor teams.

• Collaborate with technical leads to synchronize legacy platforms, cloud services, data pipelines, governance tools, and reporting requirements.

• Conduct program ceremonies, track delivery, manage escalations, and ensure governance within a SAFe Agile environment using JIRA.

• Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, and stakeholder reviews involving distributed teams and senior leadership.

• Ensure that delivery aligns with expectations for financial services or other highly regulated sectors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven program management expertise in executing large-scale, cross-functional technology initiatives.

• Demonstrated background in cloud data projects, including data lakes, data warehouses, data migration, modernization, and enterprise data platform implementations.

• Familiarity with AWS cloud data services such as Redshift, EMR, S3, Glue, and SageMaker.

• Knowledge of Cloudera/Hadoop, Spark, Oracle, SAS, ETL platforms, and Collibra.

• Experience working in Agile delivery settings, preferably within the Scaled Agile Framework, with hands-on experience using JIRA.

• Ability to navigate complexity across various workstreams, dependencies, teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

• Exceptional communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive reporting capabilities.

• Previous experience in the financial services sector is preferred.

• Experience in regulated environments that require governance, controls, compliance, and audit considerations is preferred.

• Background in leading data platform modernization or migration initiatives from on-premises systems to AWS is preferred.

• Understanding of enterprise data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality practices is preferred.
