This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Formulate and implement product strategies for personal lines insurance offerings, including homeowners, renters, condominium, dwelling fire, and other pertinent products.
• Recognize opportunities for new product development, coverage enhancements, endorsements, and market expansion.
• Perform competitive and market analyses to uncover pricing, coverage, underwriting, and distribution opportunities.
• Oversee the product lifecycle from conception and implementation to enhancements and eventual retirement.
• Create business cases and recommendations for new products and modifications to existing products.
• Track product performance using metrics such as written premium, growth, retention, loss ratio, frequency, severity, rate adequacy, and profitability.
• Detect trends and propose corrective measures to enhance underwriting results.
• Collaborate with Actuarial to assess rate indications, pricing adequacy, segmentation, and underwriting profitability.
• Set and monitor product-level goals and performance metrics.
• Evaluate performance across geographic, peril, customer, and distribution channels to identify opportunities and emerging risks.
• Collaborate with Underwriting to establish and refine eligibility criteria, underwriting guidelines, risk segmentation, and appetite.
• Assess emerging risks and suggest modifications to underwriting rules and guidelines.
• Collaborate with catastrophe modeling and risk management teams regarding exposure and accumulation challenges.
• Work alongside Compliance and Legal to ensure products and modifications align with state and federal regulations.
• Assist with regulatory filings and approvals, including rates, rules, forms, and underwriting adjustments.
• Keep abreast of regulatory and legislative changes impacting personal lines products.
• Act as the primary business owner for personal lines products.
• Spearhead cross-functional product initiatives from concept to implementation.
• Develop product requirements and coordinate with IT and Operations for system enhancements.
• Collaborate with Distribution and Marketing on product positioning, communication, and sales strategies.
• Provide training and product guidance to underwriting, agency, and distribution partners.
• Coordinate implementation schedules, testing, rollout, and post-implementation evaluations.
• Monitor competitors, market conditions, consumer trends, and regulatory shifts.
• Partner with agency and distribution teams to grasp market needs and producer feedback.
• Identify opportunities to enhance agent experience, customer value, and product competitiveness.
• Assess product performance by distribution channel and recommend alterations.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, insurance, economics, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in personal lines insurance, ideally in product management, underwriting, actuarial, or portfolio management.
• In-depth understanding of personal lines insurance products, underwriting principles, pricing, and profitability.
• Experience collaborating with insurance carriers, MGAs, or other property & casualty organizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to interpret insurance performance data and convert analysis into actionable business strategies.
• Exceptional project management and cross-functional leadership abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other analytical/business intelligence tools.
• Preferred: CPCU, CIC, ARM, or other relevant insurance designations.
• Preferred: Experience with homeowners and/or personal auto products.
• Preferred: Familiarity with insurance product filings and regulatory standards.
• Preferred: Experience managing catastrophe-exposed property portfolios.
• Preferred: Knowledge of predictive analytics, insurance scoring, geospatial analytics, and catastrophe modeling.
• Preferred: Experience in an MGA or entrepreneurial insurance setting.
