VP of Solutions Architect – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main AWS AI architecture consultant for key clients, guiding the design of generative and agentic AI systems from initial discovery to production.

• Oversee architectural design utilizing Amazon Bedrock (including both foundation and custom models), Bedrock AgentCore, AWS Strands Agents, and AWS AgentCore Gateway.

• Create sophisticated RAG, Agentic RAG, and multi-agent orchestration architectures by leveraging AWS-native services such as Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Aurora (pgvector), and OpenSearch.

• Develop AWS reference architectures, architecture decision records (ADRs), and implementation roadmaps that align with business goals.

• Assess feasibility by conducting hands-on prototyping in Python using Bedrock SDKs, SageMaker, and serverless technologies.

• Ensure that architectures adhere to AWS security best practices (IAM, KMS, VPC, PrivateLink) and principles of cost optimization.

• Maintain architectural integrity from the conceptual stage through to production deployment on AWS.

• Align solutions with the pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework: Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, and Sustainability.

• Assist clients in making tradeoff decisions regarding model selection (comparing Bedrock FMs and custom SageMaker models), latency, cost, governance, and compliance.

• Speed up time-to-value through reusable AWS accelerators, Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/Terraform/CDK), and CI/CD automation.

• Regularly assess emerging AWS AI capabilities (including Nova Forge, Nova 2 Sonic, updates to Bedrock, and new AgentCore functionalities).

• Provide architectural oversight to Forward Deployed Engineers and AWS delivery teams.

• Establish best practices for MLOps on AWS, including model lifecycle management, monitoring, and observability using SageMaker, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.

• Define governance structures, responsible AI guidelines, Bedrock Guardrails configurations, and security controls for enterprise environments.

• Mentor engineers on integrating AWS AI services, designing distributed systems, and implementing secure multi-account strategies.

• Make informed tradeoffs under constraints related to privacy, compliance (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR), cost, and operational complexity.

• Collaborate with internal product, engineering, research, and customer success teams to advance AWS-based AI offerings.

• Contribute AWS reference architectures and reusable infrastructure modules to internal acceleration initiatives.

• Support pre-sales activities including architecture workshops, AWS migration strategies, and solution scoping.

• Work collaboratively with distributed teams and client stakeholders throughout North America.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering or cloud architecture with extensive AWS engagement.

• In-depth knowledge of Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, AWS Strands Agents, AgentCore Gateway, and associated AWS AI services.

• Strong understanding of SageMaker (training, deployment, pipelines), deep learning principles, and model fine-tuning techniques.

• Experience in architecting RAG, multi-agent, and orchestration systems using AWS-native services.

• Solid expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and serverless design patterns.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform).

• Practical development experience in Python and AWS SDKs.

• Experience in implementing observability and monitoring strategies in AWS environments.

• Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-level AWS transformations.

• Excellent communication skills suitable for both technical and executive audiences.

• AWS Professional Certifications are highly preferred (AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional).
