VP of Operations – Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Retail, Technology, and Healthcare operations team to achieve exceptional supply chain performance.

• Position Ryder among the leading supply chain organizations within the industry.

• Drive logistics strategy, manage distribution operations, oversee transportation planning, and enhance customer interaction.

• Direct teams to provide high service levels, maintain low costs, and deliver value-added customer services.

• Offer strategic leadership for warehousing and transportation, including organizational structure, design, and long-term vision.

• Report performance metrics against key service indicators both internally and externally.

• Guide and oversee various locations.

• Create efficiencies while optimizing distribution and transportation costs.

• Manage distribution operations and maximize the use of available resources.

• Achieve financial targets and adhere to budgets.

• Plan, construct, maintain, and enhance distribution tools, facilities, processes, equipment, and systems.

• Develop and implement inventory management strategies aimed at cost reduction.

• Engage with customers regarding supply chain strategies and collaborative partnerships.

• Establish performance metrics, proactively address challenges, introduce best practices, and promote positive change.

• Tackle complex operational challenges, devise solutions, and inspire staff to enact changes.

• Manage the performance, engagement, and career development of direct reports.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure employee actions align with company policies and total rewards objectives.

• Assess trade-offs related to automation investments, site selection, inventory management, and delivery speed and costs.

• Travel approximately 50% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field.

• At least 15 years of experience in supply chain leadership roles at a large consumer, distribution, 3PL, or retail company.

• Background in distribution and logistics is essential.

• Capability to operate strategically while executing plans and guiding individuals through planning and implementation.

• Goal-oriented mindset with determination to achieve favorable outcomes.

• Skill in motivating and retaining well-qualified individuals with diverse talents, interests, and cultural backgrounds.

• Strong leadership, team-building, and trust-building capabilities.

• Proficient in prioritizing, following through, achieving results, and meeting deadlines.

• A sense of urgency and decisiveness is crucial.

• High personal initiative; self-motivated and action-oriented.

• Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to convey concepts effectively across all organizational levels.

• Expected travel of 50%.
