This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of Ignite Reading's extensive annual marketing strategy and budget, establishing clear objectives, KPIs, and resource distributions that align with district adoption and renewal goals.
• Act as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to overall organizational strategy and representing the marketing function at the executive level, ensuring that marketing initiatives are data-driven and aligned with the organization's capacity.
• Collaborate closely with the VP of Partnerships to synchronize demand generation activities and events with sales pipeline objectives.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing internal team while managing relationships with external contractors to guarantee that marketing reaches the appropriate audience with the right message at the optimal time.
• In conjunction with the Senior Manager of Demand Generation, oversee and enhance the complete demand generation funnel, from top-of-funnel awareness activities (including SEO/SEM/GEO/AEO and advertising) to generating new prospects and handing off marketing qualified leads (MQL) to the sales team.
• Design and implement multi-channel campaigns aimed at Ignite Reading’s ideal customer profile of district-level decision-makers (including assistant superintendents, Directors of Curriculum, Chief Academic Officers, and other K-12 leaders), with messaging that reflects a thorough understanding of the K–12 procurement process and purchasing dynamics.
• Supervise the marketing use of HubSpot, ensuring it is effectively utilized to build and manage marketing automation workflows, lead scoring, segmentation, nurture campaigns, and attribution reporting, including accurate dashboards aligned with marketing goals and KPIs.
• Evaluate funnel performance and campaign ROI; leverage insights to continuously optimize expenditure and enhance conversion at each stage, ensuring the team remains focused on what yields the best results.
• Drive new district adoption and renewal/expansion within existing district partnerships through targeted lifecycle marketing initiatives.
• Own and uphold the Ignite Reading brand, ensuring a unified narrative that powerfully conveys our model and its impact on enhancing reading outcomes for all students in the lower elementary grades.
• Collaborate with the Director of Content to develop and refine essential messaging frameworks, value propositions, and storytelling, including SEO-driven content, thought leadership, and nurture campaigns that resonate with district administrators, education leaders, and key stakeholders.
• Oversee the production of high-quality content across all formats, including written, visual/graphic design, and video, ensuring alignment with brand standards, vision, and strategic objectives.
• Manage PR agency relationships to enhance Ignite Reading's media presence, thought leadership, and reputation within the K–12 education sector.
• Ensure consistent brand representation across all channels: website, social media, email, events, sales materials, and earned media by directing graphic design and external contractors for digital, web, and videography assets.
• Champion the use of impact data, case studies, and district success stories to establish credibility and social proof with prospective partners.
• Supervise the Events Manager in strategizing and executing a conference and event presence that maximizes brand visibility and lead generation among K–12 decision-makers.
• Partner with the CEO and co-founder to create and maintain a thought leadership platform, including content strategy, media presence, and speaking opportunities that elevate their profiles while reinforcing and advancing the company's brand positioning.
• Collaborate with the policy team to formulate communication strategies that amplify advocacy efforts, engage key stakeholders, and foster public understanding around the company's policy priorities and positions.
• Ensure internal communications align with the brand narrative so every Ignite Reading staff member serves as a compelling, cohesive ambassador for our mission.
• 15+ years of progressive marketing experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior or director-level marketing leadership position (setting vision and direction for the function and managing a team).
• Proven expertise in B2B demand generation, including executing multi-channel campaigns, lead nurturing, and measuring pipeline contributions.
• Extensive hands-on experience with HubSpot, including marketing automation, CRM integration, lead scoring, and reporting is essential.
• Demonstrated experience marketing to institutional or government buyers with lengthy sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying processes; experience with K–12 school districts is preferred.
• Proven capability to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic marketing plan linked to measurable business outcomes.
• Strong experience directing creative work (both copy and design) across brand campaigns, digital assets, and collateral.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to distill complex topics into engaging narratives.
• Experience managing both internal teams and external agencies or contractors.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to set objectives, interpret marketing analytics, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
