VP of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the CEO, Board, and executive leadership on strategies for long-term value enhancement.

• Develop comprehensive multi-year financial plans, forecasts, and scenario analyses to facilitate growth, profitability, and investment strategies.

• Assist in long-term strategic planning, capital allocation, and the assessment of future growth prospects.

• Aid leadership in evaluating pricing strategies, retention models, expansion efforts, product investments, and resource allocation decisions.

• Analyze opportunities for growth investments, efficiency projects, and business trade-offs.

• Enhance visibility into company performance through SaaS metrics, forecasting, and operational reviews.

• Lead planning initiatives across revenue, workforce, operating costs, profitability, and resource distribution.

• Transform financial and operational data into actionable insights that enhance decision-making across the organization.

• Act as a trusted finance partner for the CEO, Board members, lenders, investors, auditors, and other external stakeholders.

• Produce board-quality financial reports and narratives.

• Deliver actionable insights regarding business performance and financial results to the leadership team.

• Build trust and credibility surrounding the company's planning, reporting, and decision-making processes.

• Assist in financing efforts, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and other corporate development initiatives as they arise.

• Ensure the company upholds the expected standards of reporting quality, governance, and operational readiness for increasingly discerning stakeholders.

• Build and lead high-performing Finance and Legal teams capable of navigating the company's next growth phase and rising operational complexity.

• Cultivate, develop, and retain robust teams within Finance and Legal, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

• Provide leadership and direction across accounting, financial operations, planning, reporting, legal, governance, and business partnership areas.

• Establish the operational cadence, accountability, and management processes necessary for effective Finance and Legal teams.

• Lay the financial groundwork required for SE Ranking’s next phase, including GAAP-compliant reporting, audit preparedness, close cadence, multi-entity consolidation, revenue recognition discipline, controls, and scalable finance systems.

• Spearhead the modernization of finance systems and infrastructure, including transitioning from QuickBooks to NetSuite or an equivalent ERP solution.

• Ensure robust governance, compliance, risk management, and operational discipline throughout the organization.

• Develop the financial capabilities, reporting rigor, and operational discipline expected of a top-tier SaaS company.

• Guarantee that the Finance and Legal functions can support a significantly larger and more complex organization than currently exists.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience leading finance in a SaaS environment, preferably with revenue between $20M and $100M ARR.

• Strong background in FP&A, business performance, financial leadership, and finance operations.

• Demonstrated success in building or significantly enhancing a finance function.

• In-depth knowledge of SaaS metrics, recurring revenue models, forecasting, unit economics, and capital allocation.

• Experience in creating multi-year operating plans that support executive decision-making.

• Ability to align company strategy with financial outcomes and operational execution.

• Experience collaborating with CEOs, leadership teams, Boards, lenders, investors, or private equity stakeholders.

• Strong executive presence coupled with excellent communication skills.

• Capacity to function as both a strategic leader and a hands-on builder.

• Experience in leading teams and nurturing future leaders.

• Familiarity with multi-entity, international business environments.

• Comfort operating in a remote-first, globally distributed organization.

• CPA or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.

• Experience in PE-backed, VC-backed, or founder-led SaaS companies is preferred.

• Background in audit preparedness, financial governance, and finance transformation initiatives is preferred.

• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, financing activities, or strategic transactions is preferred.

• Experience scaling finance organizations during periods of rapid growth and increasing complexity is preferred.

• Experience overseeing legal, compliance, governance, or other corporate functions is preferred.

• Strong interest in automation, AI, and modern finance systems is preferred.
