This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee underwriting activities for intricate loan requests and suggest risk-reducing structures within the designated specialized vertical or region.
• Continuously assess the assigned portfolio to detect credit risks, trends, and financial performance issues.
• Collaborate with the sales team during negotiations and client interactions, ensuring alignment between client requirements and risk tolerance.
• Work alongside legal teams to examine and negotiate credit agreements, ensuring adherence to bank policies and risk management standards.
• Offer mentorship and training to junior credit professionals.
• Identify potential areas for improvement in credit processes and procedures and communicate these to leadership.
• Utilize independent judgment and discretion to make decisions regarding the assigned portfolio.
• Analyze and address issues related to the assigned portfolio.
• Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.
• Comply with regulatory and compliance policies, standards, and relevant federal, state, and local laws.
• Complete all mandatory compliance training.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, or over 10 years of equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or portfolio management.
• At least 5 years of experience in the specific specialized line of business.
• Advanced skills in financial modeling and risk assessment.
• Exceptional negotiation abilities and capacity for collaboration with clients.
• Proven experience in structuring complex loan transactions.
• Capability to analyze macroeconomic trends and their influence on credit risk.
• Strong understanding of industry-specific credit risks and the structuring of commercial credit transactions.
• Skill in identifying credit risks and proposing risk mitigation strategies.
• Experience in managing complex portfolios while adhering to credit policies.
• Proficient in communicating credit decisions effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to lead loan structuring and closing processes with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with credit agreements, loan documentation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Competence in financial analysis tools, CRM systems, and underwriting software.
