Director – Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct key elements of financial reporting, technical accounting, consolidation, and reporting infrastructure.

• Supervise monthly consolidated financial statements, intercompany eliminations, U.S. GAAP financial statements, footnote disclosures, and annual audit assistance.

• Spearhead ongoing enhancements of monthly and quarterly closing and reporting procedures.

• Assist in SEC-style reporting preparedness, financial statement generation, MD&A, non-GAAP metrics, disclosure documentation, and review controls.

• Contribute to SOX-readiness initiatives, including process documentation, control design, evidence gathering, and remediation tracking.

• Investigate intricate U.S. GAAP issues and create accounting analyses and whitepapers.

• Collaborate with finance, legal, tax, treasury, internal audit, external auditors, and business stakeholders on disclosure governance and audit-ready documentation.

• Offer accounting support for proposed transactions, acquisitions, and strategic projects.

• Enhance reporting automation, data integrity, dashboarding, analytics, and scalable reporting processes.

• Develop and uphold accounting policies, reporting procedures, and internal control documentation.

• Act as the point of contact with external auditors and manage audit requests, PBC deliverables, issue resolution, and reporting timelines.

• Provide insights on the financial aspects of company contracts, including leases.

• Assess the structure of the financial reporting division and team strategy.

• Oversee and mentor accounting personnel.

• Manage or engage in special projects and fulfill other assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.

• 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting, or auditing is required.

• CPA certification is required or highly preferred.

• Experience with public-company reporting, IPO readiness, or transaction preparedness is strongly preferred.

• Big 4 or national public accounting experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with Workiva or similar external reporting tools is strongly preferred.

• Capability to prepare materials for executive-level meetings and audit committees.

• Exposure to the healthcare sector is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.

• Experience with Workday Financials, consolidation/reporting tools, and reporting automation is preferred.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, consolidations, technical accounting, and financial reporting controls.

• Ability to prepare, review, and support complex financial statements and footnote disclosures.

• Ability to function in a complex, multi-entity environment with intercompany activities and consolidation needs.

• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong judgment and analytical skills.

• Ability to build trust and influence within finance, operations, legal, tax, and external advisory teams.

• Capability to mentor and educate others.

• Competence to work collaboratively with stakeholders, staff, external financial partners, banks, and lenders.

• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

• Ability to establish effective working relationships across diverse teams and leadership styles.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
