VP of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the CTO to establish and implement the company's technological strategy.

• Lead a team of over 300 engineering professionals, including 15 direct reports, while enhancing and optimizing processes.

• Maintain an appropriate balance between the speed of delivery and the quality of solutions.

• Promote the adoption of best practices in software architecture and engineering excellence.

• Manage the platform's reliability, security, and scalability.

• Participate in product roadmap development and assess technical risks.

• Recruit, nurture, and mentor engineering leaders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in the IT sector, including roles such as Software Engineer and Architect.

• A minimum of 5 years in senior technical leadership roles (VP of Engineering, Head of Development, CTO, or similar).

• Demonstrated experience with microservices architectures and high-load systems.

• Proven ability in building, scaling, and managing engineering teams.

• Strategic thinker with outstanding communication skills and the capacity to effectively collaborate with C-level executives and product teams.

• Strong understanding of security, performance, and reliability principles in distributed systems.

• Background in hands-on software development.

• Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level or above.

• Nice to Have

• Experience in SaaS companies that provide high-load or real-time products.

• Involvement in designing architectures from the ground up or leading significant architectural transformations.

• Experience with B2B products in sectors like fintech, gametech, or adtech.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms and modern DevOps/SRE practices.
