Engineering Manager – Go/React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility for the engineering function in partnership with the CEO and broader organization.

• Develop, review, and deploy production code.

• Influence technical architecture and engineering choices.

• Guide, mentor, and enhance the software engineering team.

• Manage sprint execution, agile delivery, and roadmap development.

• Uphold high standards related to DevOps, CI/CD, reliability, privacy, and security.

• Collaborate with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and other stakeholders.

• Assist in the recruitment and growth of the engineering team.

• Convert technical decisions into clear business results.

• Report directly to the CEO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Recent hands-on experience in writing production code.

• Knowledge of software architecture and technical decision-making processes.

• Leadership background as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Team Lead.

• Experience in coaching and mentoring engineers.

• Strong grasp of agile product delivery methodologies.

• Familiarity with a startup or rapidly evolving technology landscape.

• Exceptional communication skills in English.

• Capability to work independently and take ownership swiftly.

• Experience with Go/Golang, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Solid engineering principles and hands-on experience with contemporary web applications.

• Availability to cover Halifax / Atlantic time business hours.
