VP, Marketing – Global Brand

📋 Description

• Develop and take ownership of Immunic's worldwide brand strategy and positioning for vidofludimus calcium in relapsing MS, ensuring a cohesive core narrative that can be adapted for both U.S. and international markets.

• Spearhead brand architecture, naming, and visual identity decisions in collaboration with external agencies and internal stakeholders.

• Transform clinical and mechanism-of-action data into a unique, patient- and physician-centric brand narrative.

• Oversee marketing's role in integrated launch planning, ensuring that brand strategy, messaging, and channel plans are prepared prior to expected regulatory approval.

• Leverage insights from previous global MS product launches to inform Immunic's launch playbook, including sequencing, market prioritization, and pre-launch disease education.

• Develop and manage the marketing budget and launch investment plan in conjunction with Finance and the Chief Commercial Officer.

• Design and establish Immunic's global marketing function from the ground up, encompassing organizational structure, headcount planning, and recruitment.

• Select, onboard, and manage external agency partners (creative, media, market research, digital) necessary to execute at launch quality with a streamlined internal team.

• Create marketing operating processes and governance that can scale from pre-launch to commercial launch.

• Direct healthcare provider (HCP) marketing strategy, including scientific and promotional messaging, congress representation, and field marketing support.

• Lead patient- and caregiver-facing marketing and disease education strategy, closely collaborating with the VP of Patient Advocacy to ensure alignment with patient support and access strategies.

• Oversee omnichannel and digital marketing strategy, including web, social media, and non-personal promotion, tailored to a specialty/rare disease launch.

• Conduct global market research to guide positioning, messaging, and market prioritization decisions prior to and following the launch.

• Convert physician, patient, and payer insights into actionable brand and marketing strategies in partnership with Market Access and Medical Affairs.

• Collaborate closely with Market Access, Patient Advocacy, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal/Compliance to ensure marketing strategies are fully integrated into launch readiness.

• Represent the global brand perspective in leadership and launch readiness discussions, balancing global consistency with local market flexibility.

• Coordinate with international colleagues and partners to ensure that the brand strategy effectively translates outside the U.S., building upon Immunic's operational foundations in Germany.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or an advanced degree preferred.

• 15+ years of progressive marketing experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals, with substantial experience in brand and global marketing leadership roles.

• Direct experience in leading global brand strategy and marketing through the launch of a therapy for multiple sclerosis.

• Proven ability to build a marketing organization and brand strategy from the ground up in preparation for a first commercial launch.

• Experience in managing global or multi-market brand positioning, balancing core brand consistency with local market requirements.

• Strong background in managing external agency partners across creative, media, digital, and market research domains.

• Demonstrated capability to translate clinical and scientific data into clear, differentiated brand positioning and messaging.

• Experience in closely partnering with Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Patient Advocacy functions on integrated launch strategies.

• Comfort operating in a lean, fast-paced, pre-commercial biotech setting.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25–35% of the time, including internationally.

• Experience in launching a therapy with a novel mechanism of action or first-in-class positioning.

• Established relationships within the global MS clinical, scientific, and advocacy communities.

• Experience working across both U.S. and European commercial landscapes.

• Familiarity with digital and omnichannel marketing strategies specific to specialty/rare disease brands.
