This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more state.
• Manage senior client relationships and create strategic coverage plans for developers, independent power producers (IPPs), utilities, manufacturers, and sponsors across M&A, debt, tax equity, and transferable tax credits.
• Lead the origination, structuring, and execution of M&A advisory mandates, which include sell-side processes, valuation analysis, outreach to buyers/sellers, and negotiation of deals.
• Assist and take a leading role in debt origination and advisory activities related to construction, term, back-leverage, tax equity bridge, and structured debt products.
• Collaborate with the Structuring and Capital Coverage teams to engage lenders and negotiate terms.
• Provide guidance to clients on M&A and debt opportunities within the clean energy capital stack.
• Cultivate senior stakeholder relationships and mentor junior team members in building relationships and executing deals.
• Create client-facing materials such as Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), teasers, buyer/lender lists, process trackers, valuation analyses, and financial models.
• Oversee transaction execution workstreams, including diligence oversight, process management, and coordination with legal, financial, and technical advisors.
• Facilitate client onboarding and ongoing engagement with Crux’s software and intelligence platforms.
• Relay customer feedback to Product, Operations, and software teams to influence the platform roadmap.
• Share thought leadership on trends in M&A and debt markets, representing Crux at webinars, industry events, and conferences.
• Expand the M&A advisory franchise and enhance debt execution capabilities.
• Educate and counsel buyers, investors, and lenders on risks and resolve transaction challenges.
• Assist in new business development through conferences, networking, outreach, and other channels.
• Build and sustain relationships with corporates, family offices, accounting and tax firms, investment banks, and lenders.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in power and utilities, renewables, clean energy finance, infrastructure M&A, debt capital markets, project finance, investment banking, or a closely related advisory role.
• Proven track record in contributing to buy-side or sell-side M&A transactions and/or debt financings.
• Strong understanding of deal structuring and execution.
• In-depth expertise in at least one area of M&A advisory or debt capital markets, along with a working knowledge of the other.
• Advanced skills in financial modeling and analysis.
• Familiarity with M&A valuation methodologies including DCF, precedent transactions, and comps, and/or debt structuring analysis, encompassing cash flow modeling, credit metrics, and covenant analysis.
• Experience in preparing CIMs, teasers, lender presentations, information memoranda, and buyer/lender lists.
• Capability to independently manage multiple complex workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, sound professional judgment, and a client-centric approach.
• A genuine interest in clean energy, technology-enabled financial services, and the development of M&A advisory and debt franchises.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• FINRA SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 licenses, or a readiness to obtain them under Crux’s broker-dealer sponsorship.
