VP, Diversified Banking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement strategies that enhance balance sheet performance when loan growth from members is lacking.

• Offer leadership, coaching, and support to the specialized lending team.

• Supervise and be responsible for the operations and strategic direction of the credit union’s specialized lending initiatives.

• Create a strategic plan for specialized lending and third-party transactions, along with an annual operating plan and budget.

• Monitor market trends and risk indicators to modify strategies and maximize liquidity deployment opportunities.

• Provide leadership to the specialized lending management team.

• Ensure comprehensive risk management processes are established across credit, operational, reputational, and regulatory risks.

• Guarantee compliance with regulations and policies, and prepare executive and Board reports on activities, risks, and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (minimum of 4 years of full-time study or equivalent).

• Advanced degree is preferred.

• At least fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in managing a financial services setting, which includes specialized lending, syndications, and liquidity management.

• Minimum of ten (10) years in a senior role related to lending, treasury, or capital markets.

• Extensive knowledge of specialized lending, third-party transactions, regulatory standards, and risk management.

• Strong understanding of the competitive landscape in the financial marketplace and local communities within the credit union’s service area.
